On behalf of the DECA student body, I would like to thank you for taking time out of your day to come and speak to us yesterday. Some of the students are ungrateful when it comes to things like this. Learning about such a phenominal woman really teaches us that we have the power to do all things and that we are more then just our hips ,thighs, and bodies.

Mama Harriss thanks for stoping by my school (DECA.) I really appreciated it . You gave me a better understanding about who Sojurner Truth really was. You also brought to my attention how important it is to try to be a better person and to succeed as a young black woman. So once again i thank you for comming and I hope you bless many other lives.

Mama Harris came to our school ,DECA, to portray Sojouner Truth. She did an excellent job and educated me and my friends.

04/08/2010 Amber Harris portrayed Rosa Parks for our Muse Machine members at Springboro High School today. Some of the kids were overhead saying that hers was the best in-school performance we've had all year. Her opening song and scene gave us the chills. Her powerful, soulful voice is amazing. Our principal, who often leaves half-way through a performance once he sees that everyone is settled in, was entertained and interested enough in Ms. Harris' presentation that he chose to stay the entire time to watch and listen! Our students and staff enjoyed the opportunity to participate on stage with Ms. Harris. She taught us all a lot today and gave us all an opportunity to experience the feelings, frustration, and turmoil that Rosa Parks and all other "coloreds" (as she put it) have/had experienced because of segregration and discrimination.

Coretta Scott King was alive and well...Ms. Harris performance had the attention of 75+ 6,7, and 8th graders...imagine, 75+ students were quiet and the Principal wasn't the one who was speaking...Great Job, Ms. Harris
